January 28th, 2010 - New York & Toronto
Just back from NYC and Toronto this week. I have much to share with you, so I'll divide it up into a few different blog posts over the next 10-14 days.
First, NYC was, as always, exciting and busy. I checked out the Designer's Collective Show which was held at La Venue/The Tunnel (an old building that used to be a very cool nightclub, check out the details on Wikipedia) located in the Chelsea section of Manhattan, just a jeans throw away from the Chelsea Piers, and the MRket Show, not far away in the Javits Center. I also had a few appointments with different suppliers in their New York Showrooms; Ralph Lauren and Donald J. Pliner, just to name a couple. Ralph Lauren's newly renovated showrooms were so new that the paint was still drying on the walls (no kidding) and the view of Central Park from Pliner's showroom was breathtaking.
From New York, I moved on to Toronto and visited the showrooms of Hugo Boss, Eton of Sweden, Toscano and Nove.
Much as I have to share with you, I also have much to catch up on at the store. I'll continue to update you on what specific designers are doing for Fall 2010 over the next couple of weeks. We are also working on posting a few video clips of designers from the show, so keep watching for more updates.
More later.
